Contoh Soal Distinguish between fact and opinion in a discussion

Contoh Soal Distinguish between fact and opinion in a discussionDistinguishing between fact and opinion may not always be as easy as it seems. What exactly is a fact? What is an opinion? How can we be sure to tell the difference? Let's review the definitions of these words and look at some examples.

What is a fact?
A fact is something that is indisputably true. It can be proven with evidence or experience. It's something that is certain and specific. An example: The sun is very hot.
Nobody would ever argue differently. There is scientific evidence that the temperature of the sun is over 10 million degrees! This is of course extremely hot and the statement is a proven fact. However, one should not be fooled into thinking something is fact.

Sometimes opinions might be covered up to seem like they're facts. So you should always be careful and be on the look out for this. Ask yourself if the person speaking has anything to gain from telling you certain things? Are the 'facts' in anyway trying to persuade you? Is this 'fact' proven by others? Lastly, do you trust this person? These are all valid questions one might ask or think before taking someone else's word on being factual.
